Agent G: Infiltrator, by C.T Phipps
Review 01
Review Time
Its time I started reviewing some of the books I read, I will post these regularly and probably copy the majority over to Goodreads and other places.
While I have posted reviews on various platforms before, this is my attempt to put them all in one place. Enough chatter on with the review.
Agent G: Infiltrator, by C.T Phipps, is the first of his books that I have read, and the first in the series.

I listened to the Audio book version, and I am glad I did. The performance of the perspective of Agent G was done really well. Throughout the action, tension and drama of the story, Agent G calmly assesses the situation like the cold blooded assassin that he has been conditioned to be. However, what makes it fascinating is not that he is one of the best killers, it’s that throughout the story he is introspective about himself.
I remember reading the first of the Murderbot series, and people seemed to love the Murderbot, the highly competent security bot, with almost crippling internal anxiety and constant questioning of its place in the world.
Agent G has had his memories removed and through conditioning and enhancements learned to be an cold and efficient assassin for hire. Yet, he struggles to find meaning, and learn more about himself and his past throughout the story. The parallel journey of external dramatic action, tension and intrigue, with internal dialogue of questioning his feelings, makes this a fun and interesting ride. When you don’t have a past and can’t trust almost everyone, who are you really.
Agent G has to navigate a rich world of secret societies, politics, intrigue and plenty of people trying to kill him. That alone is a great ride. Add in the depth of Agent G’s personal arc of trying to learn about his past and you have a page turning read.
I highly recommend it and will certainly be checking out more of C.T. Phipps books in the future. Great story, great characters, interesting world, great depth and arc, and well performed and high quality audio.
